The Abbey Theatre’s The Playboy of the Western World
This new production by the world-famous Abbey Theatre of Dublin, Ireland of the classic play by John Millington Synge celebrates this extraordinary theater’s centenary. The Abbey was most recently represented in New York City by Deborah Warner’s acclaimed production of Medea starring Fiona Shaw. Ben Barnes has directed this riot-inducing and still provocative work about identity, gender and nationality.
