In this full-length, full-fledged cabaret, performance artist Jesusa Rodriguez and musician Liliana Felipe use mythic characters from indigenous history to explore modern culture. In Arquetipas, these brilliant artists establish a parallel between the Aztec empire and the U.S. contemporary empire by bringing to life the static sculptures through which we know the Aztecs today. Drinks will be available.
The performance is part of Mexico Now, the month-long, city-wide, multi-disciplinary celebration of Mexican arts and culture sponsored by Arts International.
