Esperanza Fernández, renowned for her pure style, is one of the leading names in cante flamenco today. Born in Sevilla into a Gypsy family of artists, she made her debut as lead singer in Mario Maya's Amargo and went on to share the stage with Paco de Lucía, Camarón de la Isla, and Enrique Morente. The recipient of the prestigious Premio Andalucía Jovén de Flamenco, she has lent her powerful voice to various musical styles, appearing with jazz bands, chamber ensembles, and symphony orchestras. Her ensemble features dancer Miguel Vargas and musicians on guitar and percussion.
