Greenwich Village Orchestra, a volunteer symphony orchestra, makes its debut at NYU Skirball Center! GVO enriches the community with "exhilarating, educational and affordable symphonic performances" and is one of the only community orchestras in NYC to consistently premiere new works. They will be performing "Festive Overture" by Shostakovich, Sibelius' "Symphony No. 2" and "Concerto Fantasy for Two Timpanists and Orchestra" by Glass, which features Gerard Gordon and Steve Weiser on timpani.
