Lar Lubovitch Dance Company returns to the Skirball Center to celebrate its 39th anniversary with a week-long engagement. The Company will premier two works, Little Rhapsodies, a blend of fierce athleticism and playful and impassioned sensitivity for human interaction and an as-yet-untitled work for the full company. With a cast led by guest artist Marcelo Gomes, principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre, the company will also perform Love's Stories, set to songs by Kurt Elling. In addition, Lubovitch has invited Limon Dance Company to perform their collaborated dance Recordare.

Considered one of America's most versatile choreographers, Lubovitch has choreographed more than 100 dances for the company. Works created by Lar Lubovitch are included in the repertories of select companies throughout the world, including (among others) New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Paris Opera Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Baryshnikov’s White Oak Dance Project and Netherlands Dance Theater.
