This celebration of the flamenco arts native to Málaga features more than 20 of the region's most outstanding artists, including the evocative singer Rocio Bazán the young sensuous dancer Luisa Palicio, and the popular Panda de Verdiales. The program, under the direction of poet José Luis Ortiz Nuevo, showcases a wide array of styles ranging from folkloric to deep and powerful old forms. Featured are luminous malaguenas, driving tangos, profound saetas, spectacular zapateados, and the festive verdiales, with works by such prominent figures as Ramón Montoya and Isaac Albéniz.
