Skirball

The National High School Musical Theater Awards are a celebration of musical theater talent from high schools around the country. Performers, as well as educators and theater programs will be recognized for their contribution and commitment to the next generation of the musical theater community.

This year's innaugural ceremony will be hosted by Broadway luminaries and include dynamic ensemble as well as solo performances by the nominees. The evening will culminate in the presentation of The Jimmy Awards named in honor of legendary theater owner and producer James M. Nederlander. The evening will showcase thirty-two nominated high school performers representing sixteen professional theater programs from eleven states. Awards will be presented to two students in the "Best performance by an Actor in a Musical" and "Best performance by an Actress in a Musical” categories.

The Jimmy Awards are sponsored by the Tisch School of the Arts, Undergraduate Drama at NYU .
