Featuring a new work-in-progress by NYU alumnus Chris Elam and his Misnomer Dance Theater.

The evening will consist of:
- a short excerpt from the work-in-progress
- a feedback session with Chris Elam, participating artists, and the audience
- information about how you can participate in the co-creation of the performance (scheduled for November 2007)

All followed by a reception (food and drink will be served) and a brief survey about your reaction to the event.

Skirball Center's 2006-2007 artist-in-residence Chris Elam / Misnomer Dance Theater is creating a new piece that explores psychological issues through interaction between performers and interactive video technology. Named as one of Dance Magazine's 25 to Watch in 2007, Chris Elam / Misnomer Dance Theater will premiere the completed piece in November 2007. The New York Times cited their last piece Throw People as one of the 10 outstanding dance events in 2006.

Also, trace the development of this piece by visiting www.skirballcenter.org/misnomer - a blog hosted by Skirball Center, but created by NYU Student Jaki Levy. Jaki has been documenting this new piece and will be uploading new content on a regular basis.

Invite your friends and come be a part of this new project for young artists and young audiences!
