Join Our Time Theatre Company in honoring music icon Carly Simon. At this special event, friends, fans, and family of Ms. Simon and Our Time will gather with her to celebrate her remarkable life achievements despite her lifelong challenges with stuttering. This benefit will raise vital funding for Our Time’s programming which uses the arts to build confidence in kids who stutter so that they can achieve their dreams and experience success as Ms. Simon has proven they can do.
Our Time’s Annual Benefit Gala honors an accomplished individual who stutters for being an inspiration to the Our Time kids. This year, Our Time will honor Carly Simon who has been a longtime supporter of the organization and advocate for people who stutter. Ms. Simon, herself a person who stutters has said, “I truly believe in Our Time, and I am very proud to be an active member of this program.”
This event, hosted by Edie Falco, will feature youth who stutter and celebrities performing Carly Simon classics as well as the Our Time kids’ original songs and poems. The growing list of partcipating artists currently includes: Paul Rudd, Kelli O’Hara, Lauren Ambrose, Talia Balsam, Michael Cerveris, Ben Taylor, Lucy Woodward, Nadia Dajani, Ned Eisenberg, John Forté, Dominic Fumusa, Lauren Graham, Kathryn Grody, Ilana Levine, David Alan Basche, Alysia Reiner, Jesse L. Martin, Anne Meara, Greg Naughton, John Oliver, Austin Pendleton, Rosie Perez, Billy Porter, Ron Rifkin, Ramon Rodriguez, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Amy Ryan, Jonathan Schwartz, Ed Sherin, John Slattery, Fisher Stevens, Jerry Stiller, Mary Testa and B.D. Wong.
The performance portion of the evening will be followed by a festive dinner and auction with honoree Ms. Simon.
