The rich cultural heritage of Africa and the African Diaspora is celebrated at this brilliant dance concert. The Maimouna Keita School of African Dance returns to the Skirball Center for this performance as part of its 18th Annual Dance Conference that includes four days of traditional African dance, drum, and history from Senegal, Guinea, Mali, Haiti and the U.S.

Mari Basse-Wiles and Olukose Wiles founded the Maimouna Keita School of African Dance, Inc. in 1983. The organization is named in honor of Marie Basse-Wiles' grandmother and is dedicated to preserving and sharing African culture and history. Each season, the School presents its annual conference and concert with the Mamouna Keita Senior Dance Company, Junior Dance Company and a variety of guest artists and musicians who present an electrifying stage performance.

Co-presenented by the Mainmouna Keita School of African Dance
