Upon the completion of the final mix for their new record, A Hundred Miles Off, New York rockers, The Walkmen, started talking about how it would be fun to try to recreate Pussy Cats, the great "buddy" record of the seventies. It's celebration of rock 'n' roll, good friends, stiff drinks, and excessive instrumentation is right up The Walkmen's alley, and they'd be damned if they weren't going to take the opportunity to do something about it. The CD/DVD of Pussy Cats was released on October 24th. This special appearance at NYU as part of CMJ's 2006 Music Marathon will include performance of many of the new tracks, as well as material off of their newest original release, A Hundred Miles Off. New Jersey Rock quartet, The Wrens, and Swedish blues/rock pianist, Frida Hyvonen, will appear as support for this great show.
