"A hip and adventurous event! A focus of the new music scene every year." -The New York Times

An annual one-of-a-kind festival for new opera. Each year, VOX presents previously un-produced works from both emerging and established composers. The program strives to demonstrate the rich diversity and potential of contemporary American opera and continues to whet the appetites of the opera community.

Over the last five years, submissions for VOX from composers around the country have more than doubled, and audiences for the festival's back-to-back performances have reached capacity. With the close of VOX 2009, on the program's 10th anniversary, a total of 100 new works have been presented with the full resources of America's preeminent company for original opera. Of those 100 works, more than one-third have gone on to a future beyond VOX at national and international opera houses and theaters. Preview What's Next in opera at VOX 2010.
