A country road. A tree. Evening. Two seemingly homeless men wait for someone – or something – named Godot. Arguably the greatest 20th-century drama, Waiting for Godot is a comic and poignant play in which Didi and Gogo wait for a mysterious visitor who never arrives.

Celebrating the centenary of Samuel Beckett's birth, Dublin's Gate Theatre brings to the Skirball Center "the closest production we will ever get to the perfect official Godot" (The Irish Times).

The Gate is the leading interpreter of Beckett's plays in the English language, and their renowned production has been seen only once before in New York City - for a few sold-out performances at Lincoln Center Festival in 1996. Actors Barry McGovern, Johnny Murphy and Alan Stanford will return in Walter Asmus' definitive production. During their first visit here, the New York Times wrote: "Waiting for Godot mesmerizes all over again."

A perfect introduction to Beckett for newcomers and a singular opportunity to experience his masterpiece again at its finest.
